MILLIONS OF WILLS
The vaults of Somerset House are crammed to overflowing .with wills and copies of wills, and with birth, marriage, and death certificates, to the perplexity of the Board of Works, which is faced with the problem of finding further accommodation for them. / Built in 1776-86, on the site formerly occupied by the palace of the Duke of Somerset, who wast beheaded in 1552, the present edifice has housed m turn the Royal Academy, the Royal Society, the Society of Antiquaries, and the Geological Society. Among the millions of Wills presery ed hero are those of Shakespeare, Sir Isaac Newton, Dr. Johnson, the Duke of Wellington, and many other famous people.
