WIRELESS FOR HOLIDAYS

Portable wireless receiving sets are becoming more and mare popular with people who are spending the day in the open-air. One motor-car seen near Ripley, Surrey, was fitted with a valve set requiring no earth or aerial, and a loud-speaker. Other people were content to swing an aerial between two trees, arrange an earth, and, while resting in the country, listen to the nearest broadcast station.

At somo of the popular river resorts it is possible to hire a canoe or boat fitted with a valve receiving set, and a number of launches, with an aerial -•winging from end to end, have been •men at Maidenhead.
