BIRTH ON THE MANUKA Te use a. nautical term there was an “unscheduled arrival” when the Manuk was onl yone day out from Melbourne en. route to Wellington. This was the birth to Mrs Ban, a lady from the Old Country,,of a fine healthy son, the arrival of which caused a great deal of jubilation among the passengers. What this son of Neptune wilj. figure as in the ships’ log is not recorded, hut many and varied were the suggested names for the subject. A medical man, a passenger, attended to Mrs Bart, who, together with the new-horn child, is progressing satisfactorily.
