The president of the Waterside Workers’ Federation denies the statement that the federation intends 'to block overseas vessels because they are omitting Fremantle ns a port of call. The watersiders, he said, did not propose to hold up any vessel. They intended to avoid becoming involved in the strike as far as possible. ADELAIDE, October 30. The waterside workers have decided to work all British shipß, irrespective of the crews. The strikers regard this ns the beginning of the end. FARMERSIUBILANT STEAMER MAHIA COALED AS RESULT OF THREATS. October 30, 9.35 p.m.) BRISBANE, October 30. . The Mahia has now sufficient coal to get her refrigerators started on Friday night. The striking seamen hauled the trucks, filled with the coal, a quarter of a mile back from the wharf, to prevent the coal being put aboard. Horses had to he used ,to bring it to the wharf again. The Railway Department, claiming that it had filled its contract in the first haulage, refused ta do the job again. The farmers claim that the loading of the ship has been accomplished as the result of their threats. They were going to march triumphantly around the wharves, but as, the result qf police advice abandoned the project.
