The French Cabinet has been completed, and the portfolios are allotted as under:— i Prnpe Minister and Finance. M. Painleve. Foreign Affairs, M. Briand. Justice, M. Chautemps. Interior, M. Schremeck. War, M. Daladier. Marine, M. Borel. Agriculture, M. Durad. Colonies, M. Leon Perrier. Public Works, M. de Monzie. Public Instruction, M. Delbos. ■ Pensions, M. Anteriou. Labour, M. Durafour. Commeroe, M. Vincent. Liberated Regions, M. Schmidt. Housing, M. le Vasseur. neuter's Telegram. The new Government is distinctly more to the Left than the outgoing one, and consists of 13 Radicals, five Republican Socialists, and three Radical Left members. Apart from tlicr disappearance of M. Caillaux, the. most significant departure is that of Senator Chaumel, who represented the Moderates in the Senate. His portfolio, that of Commerce, is assigned to M. Daniel Vincent, who was a Minister under M. Poincare, and who belongs to the Loucheur group. It is announced that Senator Chaumet will be appointed Governor of the Bank of France. MEN OF EXPERIENCE M. Herriot is represented by two of his principal lieutenants, M. Chautemps and M. Daladier. former insisted on the portfolio of Justice, which carries with it the Deputy-Prime Ministership. An Important feature is the division of the Finance Department into two sections, the Treasury, of which M. Painleve is head, and the Budget, which is entrusted to M. Bonnet, Un-der-Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Department in the last Cabinet. All the new members of the Cabinet have previously held office, except Senator Perrier. All are deputies except four. The newspapers state that the Socialists, M. Blum and M. Boncour declined portfolios, but promised to support the new Government’s financial reform plans,’ while stipulating that there must be no supplementary taxes.
