OUR DAIRY PRODUCE
A PROMISING OUTLOOK OPERATIONS OF CONTROL BOARD SOME ASTOUNDING FIGURES Mr W. Grounds, chairman of the Dairy, Produce Control Board, stated yesterday that, considering all the disabilities they have nad to contend with recently, the position was very Satisfactory indeed. The two chief difficulties were the shipping strike,-and of course, the elections, but now the ships have begun to get away again, Mr Grounds is fully convinced, that everything will be quite norniaioiby the end of November. ~ The Dairy Control BoardiwtfieXdecided to call a conference consisting iof representatives of the industry, from all over New Zealand to determine, a system that would be a basis forr.fche new Government to work upon.' The board have also arranged-.-for films to be -taken this summer, ,io.,J>e shown in Great Britain, which ifcois hoped will prove a big asset tO"th'iir publicity campaign. They are also,organising a photographic competition of still photographs, so as to obtain the best possible, in the way o£..pictures for the folders to be used wifor advertising in -Ireat Britain. Mr Grounds also said that during the last 12 years the production u> of butter in this country had increased 275 per cent., and the production of cheese 125 per cent. ,i‘. When asked how the strike was likely to effect tht price of butter, Mr Grounds laughed, and said he cbijsidered it scarcely a fair question to ask at the present stage.
