SECURITY PACT CONFERENCE JURISTS RECALLED. Renter's Telegram. (Received October 8. 7.15 p.m.) BERNE, October 7. A communique issued this evening says that the Locarno conference today heard the report of the jurists on the drafting work previously entrusted to them. New suggestions were made, necessitating a fresh examination by the jurists. The conference therefore decided to have a supplementary report ior a later meeting of delegates. The relations wore most amicable. Mr Austen Chamberlain accompanied Herr Stresemann, and shook hands. The outstanding topic to-day is that M. Briand during the morning had an hour’s conversation with Dr. Luther, the German Chancellor, outside Locarno. The conversation was very secret, but doubtless it concerned the Eastern frontier. AGREEMENT REPORTED 'SctTne* *'Sun** Cabled (Receired October 8. 11 p.m.) BERNE. October 7. A Locarno dispatch states that M Briand and Dr. Luther reached an important agreement, applying tbo principle of arbitration to Eastern Europe.
