MANUKA DELAYED

SHORTAGE IN STOKEHOLD NO MEN AVAILABLE. i The Union Company’s steamer Manuka, which was limed to leave Wellington at 4 p.m. yesterday for Lyttelton, Dunedin. Bluff and Melbourne, has been postponed till noon to-day, >wing to a shortage ot three men in . the stokehold complement. Yesterday nine firemen were paid off and only six were available to take the jobs vacant, and these were duly signed on. The shipping master and the company made ever? effort to secure three men and get the Manuka away, but at 9 o’clock last evening as no men were secured the company put the steamer off till noon to-day, when it is hoped to have a full complement.
