APPEAL FOR UNITY
OF INTERNATIONAL LABOUR Renter's Telegram. (Received September 24, 5.6 p.m.) LONDON, September 24. The joint council representing the British and Russian trades union movements has made an appeal to the workers in every country to assist in removing the obstacles preventing the establishment of an all-inclusive, worldwide, federation of trades unions. It declares that the industrial and economic situation, aggravated by the Dawes plan, has become worse in most countries in 1925. Unemployment all the world over is steadily increasing, and the employers’ attacks on workers’ hours and wages have become more definite and more deliberate.
The political situation has become increasingly reactionary, and opposed to working-class interests. The danger of war is nearer, and more evident.
