THE NATIONAL ASPECT REPRESENTATIVE MEETING TO-DAY. Following the tourist and publicity in Wellington yesterday, an even more important conference is being held to-day, when representatives from all parts of the Dominion will discuss the migration problem from all aspects. It is felt that the question of immigration is one that is of vital importance, not only to the internal welfare of the Dominion, but , is also one of the most practical ways in which the Dominion can assist the Old Country by relieving her of some of the surplus population, thus reducing unemployment, and benefit the Dominion by providing latfour and means to develop the almost unlimited natural resources of New Zealand.

The type of immigrant it is desirable to secure, the amount of financial assistance that the Home Government will afford in assisting British people to come out, the nomination system and the advisability of reviewing or modifying it, and many other important aspects of the problem will be dealt with.

The conference has been organised by the Wellington Chamber of Commerce, but so widely has the importance of the subject been realised that representatives will be present from organisations in all parts of the Dominion.

The New Zealand Farmers’ Union has delegated seven members or the council to attend, the Salvation Army will be represented by Major A. Greene, various churches ire seeding delegates, while other bodies which will bo represented include New Zealand Tourist League, Caledonian Society, Chambers of Commerce, Progress Leagues and kindfecf bodies, Manufacturers’ Associations and industrial associations, etc., while several others, unable to 6end delegates, have expressed agreement with tho proposals covered uy the conference.
