UNIQUE PUBLICITY STUNT

A LESSON FROM AMERICA COULD BE USED TO BOOM NEW ZEALAND. Recent files to hand of the "Goodyear News" give details regarding a novel plan to promote tourist travel in America which might well bo studied by the New Zealand publicity authorities. A unique caravan now way across the U.S.A. from Universal Ajity, California, is making a pictorial record of America, The caravan includes a Fageol roadster pulling a motored Pullman car completely equipped for carrying five people. The roadster weighs 4£ tons, and the Pullman, loaded, more than 8 tons. The Pullman is equipped w’ith a complete moving-picture outfit, including developing and printing outfit for motion pictures and still photographs. The caravan is crossing the country making pictures in representative cities in each State en route, these pictures to be printed and shown immediately in the theatres. Later the pictures in each State will be assembled into a State reel, and the best of these in a reel representing the entire country, making a real "See America First" argument. The caravan started from Los Angeles, stopping at San Francisco, and is expected to go through Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, and other towns, to Now York City. During the winter the caravan will tour the south, returning next summer through the middle west States.
