DISTRICT NURSING GUILD
The monthly meeting of the District Nursing Guild of St. John was held at the residence of Mrs A. A. Corrigan, Mrs E. Balcombe Brown presiding. The nurses reported: No. of patients on register, July 31st 4816; No. on register, August 31st, 4839; registered during month, 23; discharged, 22; admitted to hospital, 4; remaining on register, 60, visits paid during month, 252; to patients’ homes, 198 to office, 54. Diseases treated, abrasions, eczema, bionchitis, septic hands, whitlow, infii enza, convulsions, yariccse ulcer, rheumatism, gastritis, pneumonia, hemiplegia, synovitis, and septic foot, Gifts received from St. Peter’s Men’s Club, Mrs Elliott, Mrs Scott, Khandallah Sick Poor Guild, Mr Hooper, l'cung Women’s Club, Mrs Berman, Anonymous, Mrs Stace, St. Peter’s Club. Mrs Wilcox, Mrs Myers, Mrs C. Balcombe Brown. The trustees have consented to the number of the committee being added to, making seven in all besides the president, two vice-pre-sidents, and secretary. A resolution was carried unanimously expressing appreciation of the honour conferred on Sister Macandrew by His Majesty the King as head of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem in England,- the honour being the grade of Honorary Serving Sister. It was also resolved that the j.smo of Mrs C. Balcombe Brown l I substituted for that of the late Mrs W. H. Moorhouse to operate on th-S P.O. Savings Bank account of the District Nursing Guild of St. John.
