SHIP OFFICER’S CRIME

THEFT OF A SEXTANT. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, September 18. Leslie Dobson (27), third officer on the steamer Kurow, was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment at the Police Court for stealing a sextant valued at £lO from the steamer Niagara. Accused pleaded drunkenness, but the police stated lie was not drunk when he pawned the sextant.
