ELEVEN INFORMATIONS
ALL ON ONE CHARGE QUESTION OF" ’BUS ROUTES. - CHRISTCHURCH, July 25. , Eleven informations on: a charge of haying, plied for hire. -on authorised routes were laid against Richard Munnerley. and John Harris Prisk, proprietors of a 'bus running in the Springfield reed service. The informations were laid day after day as the ’bus proceeded along the route, and when the case was heard before Mr Wyvern, Wilsonl 8.M., in the Magistrate’s Court; Mr R. J. Lougfinan, for the -City Council, said that He recognised that the proper course was to have secured a conviction on one information, and then let the informations follow if the offence were persisted in. It. was stated . that the license had been issued to Munnerley and he was authorised to ply on a ; certain route. His services had then been secured by the Christchurch Tramway Board, but later He Had established a ’bus service of His own. Mr C. S. Thomas, for the' defendants, .submitted that it was not possible for ‘ Munherley’s license to be transferred to the Tramway Board. All the informations were dismissed. Further informations of failing to comply with the by-law regarding overcrowding will he heard on Monday.
