It is regretted that owing to the large number of competitors and. the necessity for dividing the players between the various club's courts,-the educational and social value , of the tournament was greatly diminished. The thanks of the committee are due to the officials of the Broughham Hill, Wellington and Newtown Clubs not only for placing their epurts and pavilions at the disposal of the committee controlling the tournament, but also for the care and attention given to the courts before and # during the tournament as well as their generous assistance m the management of the tournament; your committee particularly desires to thank Mr J. Wairarapa district. Tour committee regrets the loss of the Wairarapa clubs, which have taken at all times a very keen interest in the affairs of the association. Association - Ladder.—Continued interest has been token by the men in singles matches during the season, although it is a matter for regrot that the ladies have not taken advantage of the association ladder for match practice with members of other clubs. It is hoped, however, that with the availability of the association’s grounds the interest and desire for improved play will be more fully stimulated in the ladies than is apparently the case at present.
