LEAP FROM PULPIT
CONVICT’S BID FOR LIBERTY SPENDS NIGHT ON ROOF. Australian and N.Z Cahl. Association. (Received July 8. 7..10 p.m.) LONDON. July 7. During a service at Parkhnrst, prison yesterday, a convict took a flying leap into the pulpit, clinilicd the Warns above, and disappeared through a skylight. He spent the night and today on the roof. Warders are waiting until hunger forces him down. The convict has collected n heap or slates to use as ammunition if the warders attempt to reach the refuge.
