The funeral of the late Private 31170, Robert CampbeH Mclntyre, of 17, North terrace. Kelburn, took place at Karon yesterday morning, and was largely attended. The service was conducted by the Rev. E. R. Weeks, and the Wellington College Cadets provided the firing party. Amongst those present were Sir John Luke, M.P. ; Mr R. A Wright, M.P.; Mr Palmer, town clerk (representing His Worship the Mayor!, Captain Conway (representing General Melville. G.0.C.), Lieutenant Thompson, Defence Department, ami Major Watson, H.S.A.. and a representative from the Pensions Department.

A fireman, named Jock Rae, employed on tho railway, was making his way along an engino at Johnsonville when his foot caught on the piston. Rea’s foot was crushed, ami after receiving attenlicm at tlie hospital ho v.us conveyed to his homo.
