A Durham miner, Mr Martin Thompson, now- 90 years of age, has worked in the coal-mine for 73 years. Sweden expects shortly to possess the finest laboratory in Europe for experimenting with road materials. The steel from two scrapped American warships has been used in tunnel construction for a California power scheme.
