RAILWAY OFFICERS’ INSTITUTE
ANNUAL CONFERENCE. The annual meeting of the executive council of the New Zealand Railway Officers* Institute will be opened in Wellington to-day. The Prime Minister (the Hon. J. G. Coates) will, in his capacity of Minister of Railways, open the conference. Representatives of the various branches of the institute, as under will attend the meeting of the council: —Messrs J. Hannah (Auckland), H. B. Taylor (South Auckland), W. C. Tritt (Main Trunk), J. W. Fergie (Palmerston North), J. Daniel (Hawke’s Bay), C. C. Whittington (Wangamii), \V. A. Finlayson (Wellington), H. G. C. Simmons (North Canterbury), G. D. Smart (Westland), J. Pringle (South Canterbury), J. Duncan (North Otago), M. Curran (Otago), and K. J. Chapman (Southland) . The other members of the council are;—Messrs J. R. Robertson, Petone (president), V. R. J. Stanley (Tuakau), R. S. Skinner (Dunedin), and W. J. Smith (Christchurch), vice-presidents; L. Barclay, general treasurer and R. C. Morgan, general secretary. It is expected that the deliberations of the conference will extend over the best part of a week.
