WELLINGTON v. CANTERBUFV TO-DAY. If the weather we have been experl* encing for the last few days will only moderate a little, those people who are wise enough to wend their way up to the Basin Reserve this (Saturday afternoon should get a great, for there the stalwarts of the League code in Canterbury are to meet their old rivals, Wellington, in what promises to be the game of the season. The League game is said to be booming down South, and Canterbury seem quite confident of success. They have sent up a strong team, but the local selectors, after two trial games, have selected a team to do battle for Wellington which will fully extend the men from the mutton province.
