Elder, the Australian Trade Commissioner, has ascertained in the course of an investigation regarding oil prices that one of tho leading companies is prepared to build hulk installations in Australia, using tank steamers with general equipment for the transportation of petrol, and involving a large expenditure and much employment of labour. The investigation shows that petrol l« a penny per gallon dearer in Australia than in the United States, after considering the difference of quality, transportation, duty, and charges.
