EIFFEL TOWER BEGINS TO PAY PARIS TAKES A SHARE Australian-N.Z. Cable Assn. PARIS, July 2. A record-breaking luminous advertising sign has been arranged on the Eiffel Tower, using 200,000 electric lamps. The tower appears like a gigantic torch which darkens suddenly. Comets then start at various points, forming a motor-car advertisement. The advertiser is paying a rent of 350,000 francs a year, plus a municipal tax of 300,000.
