A PLEASANT CEREMONY
GALLI-CCRCI AND THE RED. CROSS WORKERS.
A very unique and pleasant, ceremony took place at the Midland Hotel in connection with the Red Cross appeal. Madame Galli-Curci, who is a life member of the American Red Ci oss Society, showed her support for the cause by making' a substantial contribution to the local appeal. Madame, together with the manager of the company, was met by Mr F. Goldberg, chairman of the peace time branch of the Red Cross, the Hon. Dr W. E. Collins, C.M.G.. member of the executive, and Mr M. S. Galloway, secretary, with Sister Lewis and members of the Junior Red Cross in costume. Madame Galli-Curci expressed her heartfelt sympathy with the cause of the society, and spoke of the splendid work which was being done by Red Cross organisations in the various countries through which 6he had travelled. Miss R. Jackson, on behalf of the Red Cross, presented Madame with a nosy of flowers, together with a membership badge of the society. At the conclusion of the ceremony the group was photographed.
