I Books on wine have been numerous lof late. Professor Snintsbury’s “A ’Cellar Book” and Mr H. Warner Allen’s “Wines of France” were extremely successful. Now Mi Guy Chapman proposes to puolish “A Book of Wine,” by Mr Morton Shand. . Mr J. A. Steuart, who wrote the econtly-publishcd provocative Life of Robert Louis Stevenson, is. now busy on a novel, which is to lie called “’1 lie Cap of Youth,” and which will be j published in Che autumn.
On .Tune 9th. tho fUty-lifth anniversary! of the death of Dickens, “Tho Dickons House” in Doughty street, W.C.. was formally opened to the public. It will be remembered that the Dickens Fellowship recently made an appeal for funds to establish tins interesting foundation. Mr John Murray is to publish a cheap unabridged edition of “The Life of George Borrow,” by the late - .Herbert Jenkins. Mr Jenkins was. of course, a publisher and the author of various humorous works.
Messrs Williams anrl Norgate haying intimated to tlie Hibbert Trustees that they tvill not continue the publication of the “Hibbert Journal.” it has now been arranged that- the. publication will be carried on by Messrs Constable. Messrs Putnam’s have just published p book of short stories by Millicent. Duchess of Sutherland, under the title of “That Fool of a Woman.” The Duchess, however, is not 'in Britain 1,0. see ‘he; reviews. , When last heard of she was cruising off South Amorica in a tramp steamer.
