FOR ROYAL MARINES

BOYS TO BE RECRUITED. Cabinet has approved the recruiting of boys from New Zealand fpr the Royal Marines, and the Naval Board will accept 20 volunteers. In _ 1923 application was made for permission to send such detachments from the Dominion, and at the end of laet year it was granted. The only question to be settled was whether the recruits were available locally, and whether all ranks and ratings would be open to New Zealanders. This has proved to be the case. The recruit* will be taken in lieu of the seamer. recruits, so that no extra expense will be involved'.
