THE WINTER SHOW
INNOVATIONS THIS YEAR HUGE SPACE. APPLIED FOR. Arrangements in connection with the forthcoming Wellington Winter Show, incorporated with the Wellington Industrial Association Jubilee Exhibition, which will he the piece-de-re-sistance of the Empire City’s “Welcome Week,” are now well advanced. The various committees, with the new secretary, Mr C. M. Bowden, have been busily engaged with the necessary detail work, with the result that -everything is. running smoothly, and the prospect of a: comprehensive and interesting display of the primary and secondary industries of the Dominion are now assured. The .bulk of the huge space has already been applied for, aiid those who have neglected to secure space are advised to do so at once in order to avoid disappointment Although there will he no Olympia Show this vear, cars of various kinds will be well represented, and motor accessories will form quite a feature of this section. Entries are already coming in from the competitive classes, which include several new features, and these should he much stronger than last year. An innovation is the introduction of school forestry classes, for which, in addition io money prizes, a shield will he provided to he competed for annually. The wool section, in which there are classes for two fleeces of each breed of sheep, should prove popular amongst pasloralists, and should make a fine displav. Arrangements are being made for plenty or amusement for patrons, and od the present occasion the combined exhibitions will be housed in the Harbour Board’s new Pipitea shed, which is the largest and most commodious building of tha kind in the Dominion.
