CIVIC ELECTIONS

NOMINATIONS RECEIVED MAYORALTY, COUNCIL, AND BOARDS THIRTY-SIX FOR COUNCIL. The nominations for the local body elections closed at noon on Saturday. Two candidates—Messrs Chapman and Norwood —were nominated for the Maj’oralty, as against three —Messrs P. Fraser, M.P., Len McKenzie, and Wriglit, M.P. —last time; 36 were nominated for the City Council an compared with 35 the time before; 29 for the Hospital Board, as against 27; and eight for the Harbour Board, the same as last time.
