WAIRARAPA UNION. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS. Special to "N.Z. Times.” CARTERTON, April 16. A meeting of the management committee of the Wairarapa Rugby Union was held to-night at Carterton. A letter was received from the Wanganui Union asking the local union to support a resolution that minor unions be written to stating that the Wellington Rugby Union was moving in the direction of securing bigger voting power for minor unions, and urging them to leave their delegates at the annual meeting of the N.Z.R.F.U. to see that they were not out-voted on the question. In the event of delegates not being able to attend, same to be elected by proxy. It was decided to support the resolution. Mr lan Cameron (Mauriceville) v-as cordially thanked for a donation of £2. Mr Ci Lamb was elected chairman for the coming season. An intimation was received from the Featherston Club stating that it had been decided to enter senior, junior, third, and fourth grade teams in the competitions. The question of arranging a visit to the Buller Union was deferred until next meeting. It was resolved to allocate the Norman Camei on Memorial Cup to the North v. South Wairarapa junior match. Messrs J. McKenzie, J. Nyhnme, and F. Duthie were appointed junior selectors. It -was decided that the senior, junior, and third grade teams start the season on May 2nd, and the fourth and fifth grades a week later. Tho junior competition is to be divided into two sections —North and South. Application is to be made for the use of the Masterton Oval for the season 15 per cent, of the “gates” to be paid to the council, with a minimum of £5 for the season. Messrs A. Booth, A. Johnson, and E. McKenzie were appointed to revise the by-laws of the union.
It was resolved that a wreath be plac- . on i. Featherston war memorial on Anzac Day.
