"Carbine.”

Suggestion, on whom H. Gray will accept th<v ride if Hipo does not start in the Thompson Handicap, is one of the well fancied division in the big mile. He has a lot of weight (96), hut many of those below him are poor quality’- and ! the assistance of Gray is the equivalent of a considerable reduction in weight. Another well fancied' candidate for the Thompson Handicap is the Trontham gelding Fool's Paradise, who' goes well under a lightweight and has, only 7.4 to carry. ' Civility and Beremoana are both in favour for the Thompson Handicap, and recent form points to their running well.
