(‘‘Times” Correspondent.) r OTAKI, Monday. There. are quile ,' a . number of 'undesirables about Otaki, "and two were dealt with at the Police Court, to-day. One was sentenced to Circe months in gaol, and the other fined £2, three days being given in which to pay. A log-hauler broke through a bridge at Mangaone on Wednesday, but luckily the driver escaped injury. The late Mr Hapimana, said to be 106 years of age, and who died on Thursday at Manakau, was buried on Saturday at Manakau. It is probable that three candidates will contest -the Mayoral seat at Otaki. namely, Mr J. P. Brandon, (sitting), Mr Byton Brown, a former chairman of the Town Board, and /Mr W. H. Bowden (ex-councilfor).
