WAIRARAPA FOOTBALL
GLADSTONE CLUB. ■ (“Times” (Joi^.-spondent.) CARTERTON ,March 21. A large gathering attended the annua lmeeting of the Gladstone Football Club, held on I riday night, March 20th. Mr A. E. Booth (president) presided. . The report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. The balance-sheet showed that th« past season had been one of the most successful, and although the club had a heavy expenditure it finished the seasou with a credit balance of £35 10s 6d. The Chairman slated that the club had won the senior championship for last season, and also had won the Redmond Cup for the eighth season in succession. Election of officers resulted:—Patron, R. Cooper; president, A. E. Booth; secretary, F. A. Booth; delegates to Wairarapa Rugby Union, B. J. Rainer, Alf. Johnson. A. B. Booth, and Alex. Johnston; delegates to management committee, A. E. Booth and Alf. Johnson ; match committee—Sfenior, E. Booth, E. James, D. Moncrieff, and F. Booth; junior—W. King, C. Jensen, L. J. Riddell. It was decided to enter a senior, junior, and third-class taem in the Wairarapa competitions. G. Johnson was elected coach for the senior team; G. Sexton, junior coach, and H. Henderson third-class team coach. It was decjded to open the season with a practive game on March 28th, at Carterton. , . . . Forty new members were elected, including J. Ferguson, who played for the Bush seiior representative team last season. . The meeting was a most enthusiastic one GREYTOWN CLUB. Mr A. L. Webster presided over the annual meeting of the Greytown Football Club, held on Friday night. The report and balance-sheet wore read and Elections of officers resulted: Patron, J. F. Thompson; president, A. L. Webester; delegates to Wairarapa Rugby Union, H. T. Tilvurd, A. L. Webster, and R. Vile; secretary, F. Dennes; treasurer, J, Doherty; auditor, J. a. Kent- Johnson: delegates to Sports Union, H. Sturrell and L. McLean; club coach, M. Maguire; assistant, AJohnson; club captain, A. Jury, vicecapatin, H. Mayrick. . ~ Seven new members were elected. .Mr R. Stewart was elected a life member of the club. Mr A. L. Webster moved; ‘That it bp recorded on the-minutes the clubs heartiest appreciation of the services of the present secretary Frank Dennes) ’’—Carried by acclamation.
