The wicket was in good order, and there was an attendance of about 8000. Victoria were. at the wickets the whole of the day, and stumps were drawn when the last wicket fell for 336. Woodfull was unbeaten with no to his credit. Millar made 56, Ransford 34, Ellis 28, and Willis 27. Mcßeath and Dickinson bore the bruht of the New Zealand attack, and acquitted themselves splendidly. The New Zealand fielding was patchy—at times brilliant and at times poor.
