POLES AND LITHUANIANS. APPEAL TO LEAGUE. Published in "The Times.” LONDON, March 19. The Geneva correspondent of “‘The Times” states that the League Council has been notified of an alarming PolishLithuanian affray, which occurred on toe night of March 16th. Three hundred Poles, armed with qqiokfiring guns, are resorted to have attacked Lithuanian frontier guards between Kovno and Vilna, forcing them to retreat, and taking three prisoners. The Lithuanian Government has requested the League of Nations urgently; to take measures to prevent the renewal of Polish attaelp} and' to ensure the liberation of toe prisoners."
