BHEEPSKINS AND HIDES.

YESTERDAY’S' SALE. The fortnightly sale of hides, sheepskins,' tallow, etc., was held yesterday, lhere was a large attendance of buye'rs and considerable competition. Sheepskins were lower all round by 2d per lb; salted sheepskins sold well at satisfactory rates. Hides were on a par with previous 6ale, but calfskins were weaker. At the Feilding sale to-day there was a full yarding of sheep, mostly breeding ewes and lambs of good quality, which sold well up to late prices. Good lines of lambs were keenly competed for. A small yarding of cattle was not ( well attended, and a poor sale resulted. The bulk failed to reach vendors’ reserves. PRICES SLIGHTLY LOWER. Prices for beef at the Westfield fa: stock sales this week remained generally at last week’s rates, though there was a falling off in some cases.
