THE WOOL SALE
BtSKERS’ REPORTS ABRAHAM AND WILLIAMS, LTD. ’ Abraham and Williams: Ltd.l in conjunction with Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report as follows: , Our catalogue comprised !835 bales from the Wairarapa, Manawatu, Rangitikei and King Country districts, with a Good sclectiorf from Marlborough . and Nelson The wool‘ generally was not up to the standard of the two preceding sales, but buyers were again present in full force and competition seemed to bo more general than hitherto, .owing, probably to the lower prices letting more operators into the market. Values occasionally seemed erratic, hut growers seemed well satisfied with realisations. Bradford was again the principal operator, although Continental buyers were bidding keenly and obtained a good share' of the wool. America was bidding only on a few of the choicest lots. - Super medium and fine crossbreds fell about Id- compared with the last sdle, and average wools of the same qualities were a little easier. On the other hand, coarser wools were decidedly firmer, showing an all round advance of quite Ad. ' . Thom were very few good lots of lambs' wool offered "and same was in keen demand at prices rather firmer than last sale. Wo. sold practically tho whole of our catalogue under the hammer.;' The following list will give an indication of the prices obtained: — Southdown.—Challenge, r 3 bales, 33ct Halfbred.—SßM, 4 bales. 29d; HJ/G. 3 bales 294, 7 bales 2fiJd; Waiiti, 10 bales, 27d; Challenge, 5 bales 28d, 4 bales 25fd.
