At a large meeting of the Transport Workers’ Picnic Committee on Saturday night a report was received through the secretary that, owing to the prevalence of infantile paralysis, the Public Health Department advised'that 't would not he permissible for children to attend. The committee, though disappointed. held that the department was. in the circumstances, taking a very wise precaution, in which ; the transport workers will assist in all .possible directions, and it was jinanimouslv resolved that the picnic, fixed -for January 38th, should be postponed until the department advises that the attendance of children" is permissible. Transport workers will continue their work on the 28th in the uyual way. REPORT• THREE MORE NOTIFICATIONS. LITTLE GIRL PIES, Per Press Association. • AUCKLAND, January 19. Three cases of infantile pstolysis were reported in the Auckland health district to-dav, two being from the suburbs, and one from the country. The/third death since the outbreak has occurred, that of a girl aged 7 years, residing at Avondale. ' . A Maori child came down the Wanganui river to-dav, and it is being located as a suspect.
