BATSMAN S DISMISSAL
HOW BRICE 'WENT OUT. BALL REBOUNDS OEP BATSMAN’S HE/D. A peculiar and an unfortunate incident .occurred in the Plunket Shield match on Saturday between Wellington and Otago. The incident is perhaps without G. R. Dickinson (Otago) was bowling, and W. S. Brioe (Wellington) was hatting. - The latter endeavoured to guide a fast delivery-ground to the leg Bide,, but the ball glanced off the bat with ’ightning speed and struck the batsman on the head. The ball rebounded off Brice’s head into Dickinson’s hands, and the -howler took a fine catch which caused the Wellington man’s dismissal. Brice was rendered unconscious by the blow, and had to he carried off the field. The injury necessitated his receiving two stitches in the head. He was aple to take the field after the tea adjournment in the afternoon. . A'similar occurrence took place in a test match in England in 1921, when J. M. Gregory hit J. T. Tyldesley on the head and the hall rebounded on to the wicket. Tyldesley yeas also rendered unconscious. >
