After - tlio - position was explained to him the-Lord Mayor addressed a letter to* the shipping associations involved and-to the secretary of- the* Seamen’s: Union, (suggesting, a -conference at the Town Hall - on : Monday morning. At this conference, ho offers to act as intermediary, alto; suggesting a solution of the - piolring-up-place difficulty Tiy- offering -the -basement of the-Town Hall' for this purpose.
