- HIGH PRICES ASKED. . Abraham and "Williams, Ltd., report as follows; . / , There was a good yarding of .all classes of stock at the Levin yards yesterday, fat cows being particularly well represented. Vendors - apparently are. looking for a rise in the hear future, as in a great many' instances reserves, were above buyers' ideas of value. Prime'fat cows made to «£8 ss, with others according to weight and quality, prices showing a slight rise on last week's 'figures on a basis of quality. There was a. entry of fat sheep, but nothing of outstanding the bulk of the offering being light. A good line of medium weight wethers made 37s 3d to 88s, lighter sorts selling at 33s 8d to 345.> A few. pens of ?liorn lambs were offered, mostly of inferior quality, prices ranging from ,14s 8d to 19s. Pigs were ,in good quality, , and showed a slight rise on last week's rates,; but still below the closing sale of 1924. Prices were as follow; jEJigs.—Small weaners, 9s to 13s; better, 16s to 21s; small stores, 229 fid to 26s fid; larger, to 35s 6d; porkers, &2 to pB2 7s 6d; light ibaconers, to j£2'l2s 6d; choppers, «C2, 19s. 6d. . , Sheep.—Well-finished medium weight j wethers,'37s 3d to 30s; lighter, 33s fid" to 345; fat ewes, 275; shoin lambs, • 14s 8d to 19s; cull lambs, ,10s.
