OATS PRICES DECLINE. Per Press -Association. CHRISTCHURCH. January 16. At the Canterbury markets heavy offerings of Algerian oats are already, being made to merchants. The market naturally is slipping.back. A week ago quotations to farmers were in the region of 39 r -per bushel, and to-day they are from Is--fid to 2s Bd. A number of ■ sales have taken place at 2s §d- A few Gartons have" been offered and they are al<s easing in price. To-day the quotations for B’s are down to 3s, 6)d f.0.b., s.i., or from 2e 9d to 2s lOd on trucks. Although, the . fields-’ of white oats are' likely to bp high it is not so certain that-the area is-large. The delugo of:' Algerians is due to the, fine spring feeding' ofi being unnecessary, whilst Gartons at seed time were a costly proposition. ■ ‘ . < Merchants- are being offered substantial quantities of Italian ryegrass. ; To-day's qnotatum is 2s 9d to 3s. There is little peiennial ryegrass being offered so far, and the market is firmer than the Italian or .-Western Wolths. From 3t to 3s 3d on trucks is being quoted. Cocksfoot growers report that the crop-is bn the dirty side, and the yields will be light. Quotations are 9d per lb qn trucks, or 13d f.o.b;, s.i. for dressed. \ The pea crops look particularly well, but the area-is small tnSp year. RAPE LAMBS SELL> WELL. Per, Press Association. FEILDING, January 16. At the Foilding stock sale to-day a large yarding of lambs, hbeep, and cattle came forward. Some very good tapelambs were varded* and sold very Well, the top price being.29s- for a line- of. good .woolly.-Mack-faces. Medium lambs were irregular, but .small arid cull lambs made very good pricas. Medium quality grown sheep were neglected, bgt, a few" pens of good sheep wots keenly competed for. A full yarding of fgt cattle sold .under keen competition, and there was a demand fori all store cattle. SHEEP VALUES.
