The bowlers, at the Dominion tournament were engaged yesterday in. the sectional play of the pairs championship. In the eleven sections there were several tie'Sj, but all were played .off expept one. The second day’s play, in tli'e Dominion championship pairs took place at Wellington yesterday, rounds foul and five being played, together with the section ties. The beautiful weather, which has so far the. Dominion tournament, continued; but the greens were not quite so fiery as on previous days, the sky'- being oveicast with ciouds till alter 11.a.in. The breeze »;as than on Thursday, and being tricsy at times interfered somewhat With the play, especially op the more exposed greens, 'lire, games were keenly contested,, with very _ varying fortune. Most howling dubs have a sugges-tion-book as well as a visitors’ book, find possibly during- the- Dominion tournament Wellington will derive some valuable; suggestions from visitors trom all.parts or.the Dominion. Two such entries in the book on .Karori green are interesting. Mr B. Pilkington (Hamilton)' entered a suggestion that all Wellington greens >shanld be brought up to the standard of Karori green. Mr J. Lonsdale (Seatoun) wrote: “Have no suggestion as to the green. Caqnot be improved upon.” '
