WOMEN ATHLETES
(To the Editor, “N.Z. Times.”) Dear air.—ln this morning’* “Times” the hon. secretary of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association rushed into print to assure the world at large .that our centre is the only one one in favour of lady ' athlete*. Now the facta are as follows: —At the conference of centres held at Dunedin in March, last, all the delegates were unanimous in favour in these events. West Coast centre was not represented. After considering ihe BJM.A. report the following is the position:— West Coast centre are not in favour. Auckland centre left the matter to their delegates. The president of the Otago centra Wired (hat the contra would probably veto against the proposal Canterbury centre have not replied. Wellington replied in favour. Wo still maintain that Mr A. C. Kitto. chairman of our centre, is correct when he stated that only one centre were against lady athletes. J. O’SULLIVAN. Hon. Secretary Wellington centre. N.Z.A.A.A.
