Esq., Brandon .Street, Wellington. OBJECTS-OF THE COMPANY: The Memorandum -of ’ Association setting out the.objeeta of the 1 Company may be seen at the. Office : of the;- . Company’s Solicitor. The Company is being formed to take over and ,w6rk claims Nos. U, 123, 124, each’ onenquarter mile in length in the Kawarau-River, as shown on the Survey Plan of the Kawarau River' Gold Mining Company, Limitedi- ’ • .-* . KAWARAU RIVER: Owing to the vast amount’of gold'which has been recovered! from its banks the Kawarau River is believed to be the richest nver in the world. It has its source at the outlet of Lake Wakatipu, which, supplies 19/20$hs-of the .water in'the river. Official, records show that gold to thewalue of £19,500,000- has been won- from, the alluvial diggings and river banks in this locality; since 1877. How much .was taken out before that year, it is impossible to estimate, but it is generally contended that another ten million pounds worth of easily recoverable gold: wsg obtained by the miners of the ’sixties, ’seventies, and early ’eighties, before official records were kept.: All the gold from the original reefs that glaoiera and floods .have waahed out of theee rieh districts for- centuries past has had to pass through the Kawarau River v the tortuous, rocky, and narrow bed of which makes an ideal gold catcher. • The piers, on which a start will shortly be made will be erected under the supervision oft a Public Works engineer. The GohjL Mining Company has'been promised a six-months* delivery of' the gates from London, and it is reasonable to expect that the dam will be ’completed before the winter of 1925. !’ ' .. ..... . FINANCIAL: The claims are leased from the Kawarau Gold Mining Company on the bins of £I,OOO liability per claim for the ere6tion, maintenance and -management’ of 'the dam. and a 20 - per cent - tribute of the gold won. Frbm >the prices and quotations to hand, the Kawarau Gold Mining Company doee not expect more than,£4oo'.or £SOO per claim (in instalments) will be necessary for, the above purpose, and if too much money should, be called up, it will be refunded. Further, before any tribute, miners* wages have to,be allowed. Thus it seen that the Kawarau.Gold Mining Company's only source bf-revOnue is from the gold won, and' that they cannot earn anything until the dmim-halders are-making profits, Of the £lO/000 proposed'capital to bit immediately subscribed'it is estimated that’'not'-more than £ISOO . will be recurred to meet payments to the -Kawsrau- Geld- Mining. Company, rLiniited, and as .much of the balance mil be called! up-as is required to enable the Company to commence operations when the gates of the dam are closed.-:- -. .As! the .biggest possible production of gold is the aim of both-this Company, and .the - Kawarau Gold' Mining Company, the Company proposes to divide the: river into sections,. each of which will be'under the ,<a mining engineer whose duty it, will be to expedite goldmining, and watch the' interests of ait: concerned. -The. Kawarau , G°ld Miifiug /Company also has to, supply a gold escort for the safe carriage of the gold„tothebank at. Cromwell. A. reference to the plan will show that two of thO' claims to be acquired are situated abouft a mile distant'and. below the junction of the-famous SKotover and Kawarau Riven, whOsfc'tbe third claim is well down the .river,- Affftit'2k. miles abovo ttle township'of'CßoinwSL” A large, map of the Kawarah Bivek,'showing the’cliims cah -be seen aritheoffice of the Company's; brokers. Companies. - GENERi&j : Never in the. history of mining has there : been a cleaner, mere thoroughly organised and fascinating proposition offered. _ The amount of money involved in the whole scheme, is so small in comparison to many amgla promotions'in the gold world, that the results of the great clean-up of the ‘‘World’s Richest River” may result in many of the claims producing fortunes. No Cash to Promoters.—Remember/ in /this Company nb cash is being paidto-thePromoter*. They prefer to stand in with shares only; Showing their faith, in the venture. Note.—-The Kawarau Gold Minittg..Gpmpahy whose-shares were issued-at 1/- each, are now selling on the Dunedin Stock Exchange at 20/- each. that being-20 times their face value, alas Otago people have taken up 58 claims on the .river. . > Generations'of diggers have .dfeeamt; apd have lbnged for. the days when the secrets of-tha Gold Chest” would -be revealed, Their one thought was-to divert the river, which is a practical impossibility, but this damming .scheme which is under way, will effect the same purpose. ' One old Otago miner recently expressed his satisfaction at-the thought that the contents of the river-bed would, be revealed during his lifetime. This may be the last opportunity to secure shares ih a Companylet par, and in order to avoid disappointment early application is rebbmmended.
