Ohinemuri.—Tho contractors hare extended the southern drive on the Camoola reef 44ft daring the past two weeks, making the total distance driven from the Silverstream crosscut 1191 ft, In d further 300 ft of driving/ the •fandom of the chuto of ore existing at No. 2 level (200 ft overhead) will bo reached. The country being penetrated is of a splendid character, and is indicative of the existence of values in the reef, which "will later be crosscut to find its width and value Majestic.—The contractors have extended the south drive on the Maratote reef a further 24ft. making a total of 295 ft from tho main crosscut. Xhe drive is now in the footwnll portion of the reef, which, where exposed, is hard mineralised quartz. A delay was caused by part of the rock drill breaking, but this has been repaired, and is again working satisfactorily. The preliminary work in connection with starting the JPay Rock low level has been completed, and the Clipper drill is being employed in sauaring out for the starting of the tunnel. Zeehan Consolidated.—The acting manager reports that the contractors advanced the Paroquet crosscut Bsft for the week, the country is good but hard. - The new sft reef has been driven on 3ft, but as the Thames School of Mines is closed an analysis of the ore cannot be made until after the holidays. On the Zbehan south reef the contractors advanced the drive sJft for the week. , There is a large flow of water coming from the face of the reef, which is enlarging from the 4ft reported last week. It looks exceptionally good.
