LYALL BAY GALA
A SPLENDID SUCCESS. A gala arranged by the Lyall Bay Surf and Life-saving Club, and-held on the Lyall Bay beach, was brought to a sueeaseful ■ conclusion ■on Saturday evening, ivhen there ‘w&s dancing, followed by a confetti battle. A band was in attendance. Good weather favoured the undertaking, and the beach waa crowded. The sea was smooth, and hundreds onjoyed a yip* The club mustered a great majority of its members; and provided- plenty of' entertainment, ' and an abundance of things calculated to secure the nimble shilling from the pockets, of. visitors. - A' splendid business Was done, as the result of which the funds should benefit very materially. The club will probably make the carnival an annual affair. The various guessing competitions were won by the following: No. Christmas cakes, Miss •Smith: If Mrs J.
