FOOD. Tha Commonwealth, and Dominion Line steamer Port Melbourne arrived at Auckland early Wednesday morning from Liverpool, and: berthed .shortly before noon at the Central -Wharf. The vessel brought 14 passengers, for New Zealand, and a large corgo of general merchandise from, the United Kingdom, am>ut -®O6 tons of which will be unloaded at Auckland. Her next ports of call are Wellington. Lyttelton, and ; Fort Charmers. She left Liverpool on. 9th, and twa days later, while in the North. Atlantic, she experienced ' heavy weather which increased te a gale at mid-day, the wihd coming from the eowth-south-easf first and then veering to the so.uth-*est.
