LABOUR PARTY AND SABBATH

A strong protest was made recently by Mr Arthur Connell, the presiding magistrate at Grimsby, against the secularising of the Sabbath by tho Labour Party. An application had been made by the nromoters of a Labour meeting on. the following £?unda;p at a local music-hall for a music and singing license, and this was granted. Mr Connell, in announcing the decision of the Bench., said he found that he was not in unison with his colleagues. iTe personally should ha\*e refused the application. He had every sympathy with the Labour party, but so much regretted that they had done more to secularise the Sabbath than any other body.
