An interesting piece of history was .related by the Mayor of King's Lynn recently to Prince Ilnnry, when the latter wee made Lord High Steward of the town. ’ King’s Lynn, the Mayor said, hail always enjoyed . tho confidence of the Crown. Qn one occasion King John took his sword from his side, and presented i! to the town, to bo carried before the Mayor in office. That sword was tn parado that day. At the Guildhall, Miss Lydia Beloe presented the Prince with bread and salt, according to the old custom. The Prince’s health was drunk from the famous King John Cup at a luncheon given by tbe Mayor.
