Robertson, medical super- ; iutendent of the Wanganui Hospital,bos resigned in order to go into pri- : vate practice in Wanganui. Genera' regret -yas expressed’ at a meeting; < ’ /the Wanganui Hospital Board and t?.e members -were unanimous in paying a tribute to Dr Robertson for tho splendid services he has given to the Wanganui Hospital.

Morton Anderson, president of -the- North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society, was unanimously elected by tho-society's council to be the first p=u «m,. an offioe created by a recent amendment -to the rules. Mr E. F. Stem} was elected president nntil the -end of the current year in May next, and Mr M. H. Godby vice-president. The Rev. Canon H. H. Foster, of Lincoln Cathedral, is at present in 1 Christchurch, and will take temporary charge of the parish of Sydenham dur. irrgthe absence on holiday of the vicar, the Rev. Canon ft G. Mutter. Canon . Foster visited New Zealand about 20 ycArs ago. and again about two years ago, when he spent some time in the Auckland Diocese, acting as assistant priest ah St. Mary’s'Cathedral and taking temporary charge of the parish of St. Barnabas- Mount Eden. He was for many years in South Africa, and was at one time Archdeacon at Rhodesia.
