OPERATIONS BRANCH NEW ANNOUNCEMENT LIKELY TO BE MADE SOON MB S. E. FAY, It is understood that Mr 8. E. Fay has been appointed to manage the operations branch of the New Zealand Railways. This cannot be confirmed as the Minister for Railways the Hon. J. S. Coates, is out of the city. However, it is expected an announcement will not he long delayed. Mr Fay is a son of Sir Sam Fas, and he has had considerable railway experience. He was for some time in charge of the operations branch of the Brazilian railways, and during the war he did good railway work on the Western front. He ie a married man with two children, and he will leave New Zeeland shortly and return in time to take up duty at the beginning of the next railway year.
